I have two long haired American Akitas. They are litter mates, one adopted a month after the other. These dogs have brought so very much to my life. I searched for other boards, blogs, forums, et cetera, focused solely on Akitas and came up short. I wanted to start this blog not only to give to others a place to talk about their Akitas, but to give myself a place to share the idiosyncrasies of mine.
Seriously, the male Akita forgot and/or failed to comprehend the Akita handbook. The female skimmed it but retained only what she wanted. She sleeps in the bath tub regardless of where we are. We refer to him as Sven from Frozen.
I will periodically update fun stories and anecdotes regarding our Akitas as well as encourage others to share stories of their own.
Have questions of other Akita owners? Please post them in replies or elsewhere. This is a small blog at its start (well duh, it has no followers at its start), but I hope to have it evolve and to become a community for Akita owners. I am sure the organization of this blog will change over time, but until then, please enjoy as is!
